American Red Cross Courses at The Kroc 

We believe in building a well-prepared and confident team that can respond effectively in all emergencies. The Kroc Center offers a variety of courses taught by our very own American Red Cross certified instructors. These courses range from teaching young adults how to confidently step into the workforce with a certification in babysitting, to obtaining knowledge that offers First Aid, CPR/AED, with hands-on skills administering Emergency Oxygen. Whether you are looking to begin a career in the healthcare field or want to earn a certification in basic life-saving skills, gaining your certification in life-saving skills has never been easier and we have classes ready for you to take!

The Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center would like to invite members and guests to our facility to celebrate National CPR/AED Awareness Week, June 1–7. In honor of CPR Week, we will be hosting CPR classes Tues–Fri, June 2–6. 

Our CPR/AED/First Aid Classes teach Adult and Pediatric CPR, first aid for all common injuries, and how/when to use an Automated External Defibrillator. These skills are crucial for responding to emergencies of any nature. We’re excited to share these skills with all members of the community! 

All participants must be 15 years old by the date of registration. CPR masks and all necessary equipment will be provided.

American Red Cross Lifeguarding Course

Utilizing a blend of online coursework and classroom learning, this class provides entry level participants the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illness until EMS personnel take over. Upon successful course completion students will then be certified in:

• First Aid 
• AED 
• Lifeguarding
• CPR Pro 
• BBP 
• O2  
• Water Park

Lifeguarding pre-test required to participate in class. 
Swim-Tread-Swim Sequence - 150 yard swim, 2 minute tread, then another 50 yard, followed by deep water object retrieval

Full participation in all classes is required to gain certification. Make up classes are at the discretion of the instructor.

American Red Cross WATERFRONT Lifeguarding Course

This course is to be an add-on to a basic ARC Lifeguarding w/ CPR/AED/First Aid certification. Allows students to lifeguard at waterfront facilities or beaches. Reach out to [email protected] or [email protected] to schedule and enroll in a class.

Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED

The American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED program helps participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies. The courses in this program teach the knowledge and skills needed to give immediate care to an injured or ill person and to decide whether advanced medical care is needed.

Class offered as a Blended Learning course that requires participants to complete online work before attending the in-person skills session.

American Red Cross Babysitting

This course will provide youth who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly care for children and infants. This training will help participants develop leadership skills, learn how to develop a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe, and help children behave. They will learn about basic child care, how to care for respiratory and cardiac emergencies, and basic first aid. Participants will receive a Pediatric First Aid/CPR certification, as well as take home ARC adult and pediatric respiratory masks.

Supplies included. Participation in all classes is required for certification.
