Welcome to Kroc Swim Academy

We are very excited to present the American Red Cross learn to swim program with Parent and Child levels 1 and 2, Preschool levels (1-3), and school age levels (1-6). Breaking the levels up by skill and age allows us to teach the basic skills and fundamentals required to advance to the next level.

If you have any questions or would like to schedule private swim lessons or a swim evaluation, please contact Emma at [email protected]

NOTICE: Private Swim Lessons are currently full.

Group Lessons and Swim Teams are still available! New classes release with each guide. View Current Season Guide.

Please take some time to read info below for some basic information about swim lessons, as well as tips for success.

  • On the first day of lessons, we test every student’s ability and may switch them to a different instructor or level if it is a better fit. Details on class descriptions are available online. If your child needs to transfer levels, we will look at class capacity and try to find the right fit. Please direct any questions to Emma Cooper after consulting your swim instructor on the proper swim level.
  • All swim participants must have and adult 18+ accompany them to the lesson. Once your child is in class, parents are required to stay on deck during the lesson. This applies to all Parent/Child 1 - Swim Level 6 levels, including swim team prep/teen classes.
  • No child is permitted in the water until the instructor is there with the class. This applies to all Parent/Child 1–2, Preschool 1–3, and Swim Level 1–6.
  • Goggles are not recommended to be used in Parent/Child 1, Preschool 1–3, and Level 1 but can be useful for Levels 2–6 and any teen or swim team prep classes.
  • Please be aware that your class may have two teachers. This means we are training an instructor to teach that level or the instructor is scheduled as a float and is not a permanent placement.
  • Photography during swim lessons is prohibited to ensure your child’s safety.
  • Instructors are available 5 minutes after swim class to talk about your student’s progress.
  • Swim-level report cards will be given out on the last day of class, which will list the skills covered in class. The list includes your child’s mastered skills or areas of improvement and recommended next level. If you paid for the next level in advance, but your child needs another session of the same level, please direct the class transfers to Emma Cooper after consulting your swim instructor on the proper swim level.

Tips for keeping your child warm during and after swim lessons:

  • Have them wear a swim cap. Swim caps can help prevent heat loss.
  • Consider having them wear a wetsuit or long-sleeved thermal rash guard to add extra insulation to the body.
  • Always have a large towel or hooded robe ready to wrap your child in as soon as they exit the pool.
  • Pack warm snuggly pajamas to wear instead of street clothes for after lessons.
  • Bring a thermos full of hot chocolate for an after-swimming treat.

Indoor hot tub rules:

  • Swim participants are allowed in the hot tub after a lesson, but an adult must be in the water with them.

Outdoor hot tub rules:

  • Only ages 18+ are allowed in the outdoor hot tub.

Visit kroccda.org/aquatics for facility and pool hours and continue practicing outside of class! Please do not hesitate to contact Emma Cooper with any questions you may have.
