15 Years of Impact
The Kroc is More Than...
Over the last 15 years, we are proud to be more than a pool, more than a summer camp, more than a gym, more than social services, and more than a community center.

The Kroc is More Than...
Over the last 15 years, we are proud to be more than a pool, more than a summer camp, more than a gym, more than social services, and more than a community center.
The Kroc is More Than a Pool...It Is Providing Life-Saving Water Safety Skills
North Idaho has one of the highest per capita drowning rates in the country. As a pillar program of The Kroc, 3rd Grade Swim educates each third grader in Kootenai County with lifesaving information to use when they are in and around the water. Each year, thousands of area students are transported to The Kroc during the school day for a week-long class that teaches water safety, proper swimming techniques, and how to have fun in and around the water.

The Kroc is More Than a Day Camp... It is a Safe Place to Belong and Grow
When school is out in the winter, spring, and summer, Camp Kroc offers opportunities for kids to have fun, meet new friends, learn about Jesus, experience new activities, and grow. Over the years, Camp Kroc has supported youth who have advanced from campers to counselors-in-training to counselors, emerging as shining leaders giving back to The Kroc and the community.

The Kroc is More Than a Single Location... It extends into schools.
Mobile Kroc began in 2016 as an answer to local school requests for positive adult role models and organized recess time. In partnership with local churches and businesses, Mobile Kroc brings inclusive, fun, and structured games and activities to elementary lunch recess. An extension of this program now includes local churches gifting money and resources to schools for snacks, clothing, and supplies.

The Kroc is More Than Social Services... It Is Equipping and Transforming Through Relationship
Nearly 1,600 individuals in Kootenai County are on a waiting list to see a mental health provider, and more than 20% of local high school students have considered or attempted suicide. In 2023, The Kroc Center hired a Youth and Family Support Specialist, who is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), to provide individual, family, and group counseling services to the uninsured and underinsured. Subsidies make these services available for low-income youth and families for just 15% of regular rates. An hour of counseling costs a client just $15.

The Kroc is More Than a Community Center...It is a Gathering Place
Recognizing the need to use resources to address the root causes of poverty and change generational trajectories, The Kroc Center launched The Well in 2019. The Well offers a wide range of activities throughout the week aimed at supporting holistic wellness and empowering individuals to change their circumstances, all free to the public. While The Well supports development of body, mind, and spirit, it also fosters connection among participants and with Kroc staff and members.
